The acquisition could help Roku distinguish itself from rival streaming services. Quibi had plenty of shows in the works. Quibi, the mobile streaming services formerly known as Hulu was the illuminati of mobile content providers and it was a shame. Quibi was a streaming media startup that failed to live up to expectations. It was an experiment that was started by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman. The platform boasted a star-studded lineup of original series and revivals of old television shows. Some notable titles include Chrissy Teigen’s Court, Reno 911! and Punk’d. In addition to these titles, the company had a library of nearly 100 films and shows worth less than a hundred million dollars.

Sadly, the service has officially shut its doors. While it may be a bit of a mouthful to say, the company has sold off some of its best stuff to Roku. Several high-profile stars were attached to the venture, including Chrissy Teigen, Kevin Hart and Liam Hemsworth.
